Goderich is a town in the Canadian province of Ontario and is the county seat of Huron County. The town is located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron at the mouth of the Maitland River. Goderich faces the lake to the west.

The Goderich-Exeter Railway currently operates freight service to Goderich. The line was built by the Buffalo and Lake Huron Railway in 1859.[52] The railway was soon taken over by the Grand Trunk Railway, later CN. In 1992, the line was sold to the Goderich-Exeter Railway.

A Small, Friendly Excursion!

A group of just seven motorcars made up this excursion. We set on in Goderich on a cold 'November in Ontario' Saturday morning after first fortifying ourselves with coffee from Tim Horton's. Participants included our friend John Brown and his son, Ian. As we were the only Americans on the run, our Canadian hosts jokingly offered us 'political asylum' after the results of the recent US Presidential election. We moved forward and stopped at Goderich station to regroup and complete our safety briefing.

We then proceeded southwest through the farmlands of the Ontario peninsula through Clinton, Seaforth, and Mitchell. We stopped at Stratford for lunch at a great Pub. After turning our cars, we retraced the route back to Goderich and set off just about sunset. This enjoyable one-day trip totaled about 90 round trip miles. After a nice dinner in Goderich with John and his son, Dan and Adrianne made the drive back to Jamestown.

Thanks also to Jim Brown, Ted Stevens, Rod Wilson, and Lorna and Grant Kingsland for joining on this run.
