Western New York and Pennsylanvia Railroad - 10 - 11 September 2011

Railcar 007 crewed by Harvey, Adrianne, and Dan ran the Westen New York and Pennsuylvania Railroad on September 10 - 11, 2011. We set on at the yard in Olean, NY. On Saturday we traveled 60 miles to Driftwood, PA and back. On Sunday we sent from Olean to Randoph NY and then returned to Olean for setoff on Sunday afternoon. The trip inclded a stop at the museum at Salamanca. The event was sponsored by NERCA under the leadership of EC Warren Riccitelli. Sadly, this was Harvey's last run on Railcar 007.

The WNYP operates a system centered on Olean, NY. The Southern Tier Extension heads east to the Norfolk Southern Railway's (NS' Southern Tier Line at Hornell and West to NS at Meadville, with a branch continuing to the Oil City area). Since 2007, the WNYP also operates the former Norfolk Southern Buffalo line from Driftwood, PA to Machias, NY
During the excursion, railroad personnel related interesting stories about the filiming of the 2010 movie Unstoppable, parts of which were shot on this section of the railroad.
